Pro Football Focus grades Bills’ Matt Milano as NFL’s best linebacker

Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano has been one of the most overlooked players in the NFL. But not anymore… at least, not by Pro Football Focus through two games in 2021.
According to the football analytics outlet, the Bills have the NFL’s best linebacker on their roster currently and it’s not Tremaine Edmunds. It’s Milano.
Per PFF’s grades, Milano has earned a mark of 86.6 overall so far this season. That’s the highest of any linebacker in the league.
The next closest is the Dallas Cowboys’ first-round rookie, Micah Parsons. He clocks in at 85.1.
Unfortunately PFF is still not very high on Edmunds.
His 56.9 overall grade is good for their 48th best linebacker in the league. But Edmunds has gotten his national praise already in the past, earning a few Pro Bowl nods.
Milano, on the other hand, has not gotten as much respect. No Pro Bowls for him.
The most-likely reason are his injury issues. Milano hasn’t played a full season since his rookie year.
Despite that, the Bills knew what they had in him, signing him to a long-term extension this offseason. But hopefully this PFF praise is just the start of those around the NFL getting to know Milano more.
And for those curious about the less fancy stats, so far this campaign, Milano has 10 tackles, including four for loss, one sack, two QB hits, a pass defended and a fumble recovery.
