Vivek Ramaswamy, the longshot presidential candidate, is getting some high-octane political help from a longtime veteran of New Hampshire politics and nine presidential campaigns.

Michael Biundo, a former senior adviser to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Rick Santorum’s 2012 presidential campaign manager, will be a senior adviser to the American Exceptionalism PAC backing the wealthy 37-year-old biotech entrepreneur. Biundo, one of only a handful of operatives to notch wins in both the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primaries, will bring with him his Ascent Strategic firm, including partners Derek Dufresne and Kory Wood.

“I have had the opportunity to evaluate and meet with most of the 2024 Presidential field,” Biundo told POLITICO in a statement. “What I keep coming back to is how much Vivek Ramaswamy has impressed me, but more importantly, how he is captivating and converting Republican voters.”

Biundo had been in talks to be a possible operative with the campaigns of both former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Scott Schweitzer, the co-chair of the PAC, said in a statement that Biundo and his partners would be “invaluable to our efforts of helping to elect Vivek Ramaswamy as the next President of the United States.”
