Pro-Trump supporters march in Tokyo

Organizers, which included members of the Happy Science religion that has been categorized as a cult, said there were approximately 1,000 protesters who waved American flags, as well as the Japanese "Rising Sun" flag, a centuries-old symbol that was also used by Japan's military during World War Two.

They also held banners disputing the Nov. 3 election that saw Trump lose his grip on power after one term as president.

The Tokyo protest came hours before hundreds of supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in a stunning bid to overturn his election defeat, battling police in the hallways and delaying the certification of Biden's victory for hours.
