A group of pro-Ukrainian hackers has compromised the website of the Moscow Technical Inventory Bureau, transferring some of the retrieved information to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and making a portion of the database public, RFE/RL reported on Aug. 7.

The Moscow Technical Inventory Bureau, a Russian state service, stores data about real estate developments and buildings in the city. This includes plans, technical specifications, data on demolitions, utilities, and more.

The group left a message on the bureau’s website: "Information about civil servants, politicians, military and intelligence officials who support the war with Ukraine has been handed over to the Ukrainian Defense Forces."

The hacker group began posting screenshots of the data, likely procured from the breached database. They publicly revealed addresses and register numbers of facilities belonging to Russia’s FSB and military units in Moscow. Part of the database was also published online.

The group, identified as "sudo RM-RF," has taken credit for the cyber-attack. Previously, they had infiltrated the website of the Russian Skolkovo Foundation and made the acquired materials public. Skolkovo was commissioned by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who now serves as the deputy head of Russia’s Security Council.
