Jul. 14—The Jeff Monreal Funeral Home will be hosting a charity golf outing to benefit the Travis Mills Foundation.

The outing will take place July 29 at Manakiki Golf Course, 35501 Eddy Road in Willoughby. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the shotgun start will take place at 9.

United States Army Staff Sgt. Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne is a "recalibrated veteran," motivational speaker, actor, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees. In 2013, Mills and his wife, Kelsey, founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, to benefit and assist post-Sept. 11 veterans who have been injured in active duty as a result of their service.

All the profits from the golf outing will be donated to the Travis Mills Foundation and will go toward supporting recalibrated veterans, and their families through various programs that help men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, according to a news release. The proceeds are also intended to help strengthen families, as well as provide rest and relaxation.

Registrants can make checks payable to Manakiki Golf Course and can be mailed to 5510 St. Peters Way, Mentor, OH 44460. For other inquiries, Monreal can be reached at 440-339-7023.
