Producers of 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha' ask fans to stop entering the real-life houses used in the show

In an official statement released on Oct. 5, the producers of tvN’s “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” asked viewers to stop entering the real-life houses where the K-drama was filmed.

Statement of tvN Producers: The production team explained that the houses featured in the drama belong to real people who had leased their property for the duration of filming, reported Soompi.

  • As the home owners are currently being disrupted by visitors, the producers requested that viewers stay out and visit other landmarks from the drama instead.

  • “They helped our drama out with good intentions, but they are currently suffering disturbances to their everyday lives because of visitors,” the statement quoted. “For the reason described above, when you visit our filming location, we ask that you refrain from entering these houses.”

  • “Out of consideration for people who want to experience the afterglow of the drama, the city of Pohang will be keeping the squid statue at Cheongha Market and the boat at Sabang Memorial Park even after the end of filming,” the producers added.


About the drama: The ongoing K-drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” starring actors Shin Min-ah and Kim Seon-ho, follows the romance of a big-city dentist who moves to a seaside village where she meets a charming, unemployed handyman.

  • The drama, directed by Yu Je-won and written by Shin Ha-eun, premiered on Aug. 28 and airs on tvN every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm KST. It is also available for streaming internationally on Netflix on the same days.

  • According to Forbes, “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” ranked #1 in Korea and #8 worldwide on Netflix on Oct. 4. It also made Top 10 in more than 20 countries including Australia, Philippines, Japan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, India and New Zealand.

  • “I’m thrilled by the favorable responses that viewers all over the world have shown to this feel-good, heartwarming romance set in a small seaside village,” Executive Producer Jo Moon-ju said. “I hope that the viewers will continue to enjoy the beautiful story that is about to unfold.”
