Program on Moravian art at Dover library Monday

DOVER − Rev. John Wallace, pastor of the First Moravian Church in Dover, will present "Moravian Art in the Wilds of Ohio" at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Dover Public Library Community Room, 525 N. Walnut St.

He will focus on the story of John Valentine Haidt, a Moravian painter. The lecture will explore Haidt’s background and formal education as well as his “calling” to serve God. Haidt used his artistic skills to create paintings used as religious examples for those who visited Schoenbrunn Village.

Wallace, a resident of Tuscarawas County for the past 12 years, has a master’s degree in theology and a bachelor of arts in social studies. He serves on the local Schoenbrunn Village board and is a member of the TuscArts Cooperative.
