Progress on Energy-Efficiency Bill in Midst of Shutdown?

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., won't let a government shutdown or legislative holdups derail an energy-efficiency bill that was pulled from the Senate floor last month.

Shaheen announced Tuesday that she's planning a meeting this week to discuss ways to advance the legislation with bill co-sponsor Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Sens. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, according to The Hill. The meeting will also include a number of House lawmakers.

"We hope to find a way forward that will not just include the Senate but how to get something through the House," Shaheen said.
