This project will bring an urgent care center, Starbucks to Riverside: What to know
An Urgent Care Walk-in Center with an attached Starbucks is being built at a vacant spot at Tops Plaza in Riverside.
“I think it’s going to be a great asset to the village,” said Riverside Village Mayor Rich Wagar. “The timeline to finish building a standalone Urgent Care Center building, that will include a Starbucks, given to the village by the contractor is November.”
Wagar said the section of the Tops Plaza that was sold about two years ago formerly housed a Friendly’s Family Restaurant. Friendly’s closed at the site several years ago and the building was razed.
“That portion of the plaza was subdivided a couple of years ago,” Wagar said. “When the project is completed the Urgent Care Center will look like the Urgent Care Center in Elmira, a standalone building.”
Wagar said the project first came to the Riverside Village Board nearly two years ago.
“It didn’t move forward for a while but it’s good to see it’s moving forward,” Wagar said. “It will be a nice addition to the plaza.”
