'Project Slurp:' Nissin Foods to bring operations, 300 jobs to Greenville County by 2025

Nissin Foods will establish operations in Greenville County, representing a $228 million investment that will bring more than 300 jobs, according to a press release.

The instant ramen producer can be recognized for their Cup Noodles and Top Ramen products.

Based in Tokyo, with its U.S. headquarters in California, the company will purchase a 640,000-square-foot building located at 117 Bracken Road in Piedmont.

"Nissin Foods has seen sustained sales growth year-over-year, especially over the last five years, driven by unprecedented demand for our products. As we developed the company's expansion plans, we determined early on that Greenville, South Carolina was the ideal location for our newest manufacturing facility, knowing it's among the fastest growing manufacturing cities in the country and that some other top brand are produced there," Nissin Foods President and CEO Michael Price said.

Operations are expected to begin online in August 2025.

The Coordination Council for Economic Development approved job development credits related to this project, with the council also awarding a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the cost of building improvements.

In addition on Tuesday, Greenville County Council unanimously approved a Fee in Liue of Property Taxes (FILOT) Agreement for Nissin Foods ― once referred to as "Project Slurp."

"We welcome Nissin Foods to our international community of companies and advanced manufacturing ecosystem.”
