Projectiles fired near rowers competing in tournament in West Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — Video shows projectiles being fired near a group of rowers competing in a competition in West Sacramento.

According to the West Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired near Industrial Boulevard and Stone Boulevard around 1:30 p.m.

Police said a search of the area was conducted but that no evidence of a shooting was discovered.

On Monday, FOX40 shared a video with police showing projectiles landing in the water near a boat of rowers competing in the River City Rowing tournament. In the video, multiple popping sounds can be heard before splashes are seen near the rowers.

The West Sacramento Police Department said it is investigating the incident and asks anyone with information to contact them.
