The evening included cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a fashion show with community members modeling gowns from the Prom Beach inventory that could be "adopted" and "named." Once adopted, an inspiring message from the adoptee was pinned to the dress for the future recipient.

Models were Xiomi Penn, Susan Cushing, Susan Bigsby, Stephanie Branscomb, Sara Skillern, Courtney Lala, Elena Roscoe, Donna Forte, Nicole Viltres, Adrianna Lopez, Lisa Bagocius, Pam Williams and Donna Tomaszewski.

The event also included an actual wedding dress being painted by artist Paula Navarette, a senior at Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

Laura Wissa, founder of Prom Beach, was chairwoman for the Adopt-a-Dress evening, assisted by her board members/committee Elizabeth Baldwin, Marie Garcia, Victoria Rizzuto, Sara Trausneck, Megan Middeke, Nadia Spivak and Jennifer Nawrocki.

Proceeds from the night benefit Prom Beach, the first and only 501(c) 3 Prom Closet in Palm Beach County. Its mission is to provide inclusion and empowerment for teens from low to no income families by giving them access to key milestone events by providing free formal wear for prom and special occasions.
