'The Prom,' 'Elf' and more are on Civic Theatre's 2023-24 season in Carmel
Contemporary and classic tales with a twist make up Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre's 2023-24 season. It will open with the collision of Broadway glam and Hoosier humility in "The Prom," and early 2024 will bring the tragic romance of "Romeo and Juliet" with new storytelling techniques tossed in.
Other works include holiday favorite "Elf The Musical," "Driving Miss Daisy" and "Anastasia."
Season subscriptions are on sale now for Civic Theatre, which is housed at the Tarkington at the Center for the Performing Arts at 3 Carter Green in Carmel. Single tickets will be available starting July 27. Visit civictheatre.org to buy tickets and learn more.

'The Prom'
Oct. 6-21
Four Broadway stars resolve to help an Indiana teen who endures resistance when she wants to take her girlfriend to prom in her conservative small town.
'Elf The Musical'
Dec. 1-24
An orphan who grows up in the North Pole travels to New York to find his naughty family and spread the meaning of Christmas throughout the city.
'Romeo & Juliet'
Feb. 9-24
The classic tale of lost love will take on a contemporary rock 'n' roll vibe in this 90-minute version adapted for Civic Theatre by Director Emily Rogge Tzucker.

'Driving Miss Daisy'
March 15-30
After a white woman crashes her car, her son hires a Black man to be her chauffeur — a man whom she at first refuses to rely on before the two become close friends in this play that explores racial prejudice, aging and social conventions in the deep South.
'Anastasia'
April 26-May 11
With the help of a con man and ex-aristocrat, a woman tries to untangle her past and secure her future in 1920s Paris as an unrelenting Soviet officer threatens her.
