Prop 30, California’s “millionaire tax” causes divisions between Gavin Newsom and his allies

California’s Proposition 30, a measure that would increase taxes on those making more than $2 million dollars a year by 1.75 percent in order to pay for zero-emission vehicles and wildfire prevention, will be on the ballot this November. While Governor Gavin Newsom says he opposes the move, many of his allies throughout the state are in support of the measure.
