Propak acquired by Pallet Logistics of America
Propak of Fort Smith has been acquired by Pallet Logistics of America), making their 20-year partnership more official.
Propak has a 60-facility footprint concentrated in the central and western U.S., but it's operations span the entire country with a diverse customer base from coast to coast.
The Propak name and brand will remain and the company will operate as part of the Pallet Logistics of America Family of Companies, along with their other brands Pallet Repair Services, Pal-Serv, Propak, Valley Pallet, and Yancey Pallet.
Steve Clark, current President and CEO of Propak, will continue to oversee operations and take a position on the board of directors at PLA.
In a news release, the company stated:
"While core acquisition is important, the greater opportunity here is becoming a holistic supply chain solutions provider; that not only provides pallet management services, but also reverse logistics services, transportation services, and 3PL capabilities."
Propak will continue to operate “business as usual” with no expected layoffs.
Their press release also stated that the relationships Propak has with their service providers are critically important.
"The addition of Propak significantly expands the brokerage capability of PLA and with our expanded service offering, we see significant opportunities for our service providers," Clark said.
In his new board of directors position, Clark will "establish the organization’s vision, mission, and purpose while managing resources responsibly, with integrity, and utmost compliance" the press release explained.
"We are pleased that PLA recognizes the strength and professionalism of Propak and our employees, as well as our future potential," Clark said. "As part of PLA, Propak is committed to delivering the same quality services and customer support that our partners have come to expect from us, while creating growth opportunities in the pallet and supply chain space."
