Proposed 4-story boutique hotel could transform this side of Fort Worth Stockyards

The Fort Worth Stockyards could soon be home to a new boutique hotel, this one off the main drag.

The proposed four-story hotel with 26 guest rooms would be along Clinton and West Exchange avenues, the first such development to reach this far into the western edge of the district, about five blocks from North Main Street.

The name of the hotel isn’t clear yet, but it would be four stories high, according to records from the city’s Urban Design Commission. The hotel would feature a pool, lobby, lounge and interior courtyard.

Trey Neville of Graham Ltd. is the developer. Neville did not respond to requests for comment. Jim Lane is also listed as a property owner.

Neville is scheduled to go before the Urban Design Commission on Thursday for a certificate of appropriateness and recommendations for variances related to parking, building height and other specifications.

Buildings at this location aren’t allowed to be more than 40 feet tall, but the developer is asking for a maximum height of 54 feet.

The site also requires room for 38 parking spots, but the developer is asking for the property to require only 16.

The hotel, with a proposed height of 68 feet, was first reviewed in July 2022 but was denied. Since then, the developer has revised details of the design.

City staff is recommending that the Urban Design Commission hold off on approving the project to give the developer time to show details for a landscape plan and additional renderings.
