Proposed bills would overhaul Maryland's evictions process

State lawmakers on Monday unveiled their plan to keep more Marylanders in their homes amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused problems with evictions and foreclosures. Some advocates believe one of the only things preventing a deluge of evictions has been the closure of Maryland's court system due to the virus . Housing advocates want to overhaul Maryland's evictions process, saying some 200,000 Maryland families currently face the threat of eviction.
