Will Texas (-37½) cover?

Kirk Bohls: Yes

Cedric Golden: No

Brian Davis: No

Danny Davis: Yes

Jason Jarrett: Yes

Richard Tijerina: Yes

Bohls: Will Texas really utilize its tight ends? All eyes on Ja'Tavion Sanders

Texas' first play: a run or a pass?

Kirk Bohls: Run. Let Quinn Ewers settle in, and part of that would be giving the ball to your best player, Bijan Robinson. Not brain surgery.

Cedric Golden: Run. The Bijan Robinson Heisman campaign begins with a 12-yard run off left tackle.

Brian Davis: Pass.

Danny Davis: Run. Bijan Robinson has been waiting since Nov. 13 for an official carry, so give the football to the Mustard Man, and let's get this season underway.

Jason Jarrett: Run. Got to get the Heisman hype off to a strong start for Bijan.

Richard Tijerina: Pass. We're all wondering how Ewers will look throwing the ball. Betting Sarkisian tells us right off the bat.

Who'll score Texas' first points of the season?

Kirk Bohls: Bijan Robinson

Cedric Golden: Bijan Robinson

Brian Davis: Bijan Robinson

Danny Davis: Bijan Robinson

Jason Jarrett: The starting place-kicker.

Richard Tijerina: Bert Auburn.

More:Brian Davis' breakdown of the Texas roster, position by position, player by player

Who'll lead Texas in tackles?

Kirk Bohls: DeMarvion Overshown.

Cedric Golden: DeMarvion Overshown.

Brian Davis: DeMarvion Overshown.

Danny Davis: Jaylan Ford.

Jason Jarrett: Jaylan Ford.

Richard Tijerina: DeMarvion Overshown.

Who'll end up as Texas' leading receiver in the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe? Jordan Whittington, shown fighting for yardage after a catch in last year's Oklahoma game, figures to be one of Quinn Ewers' top targets.
Who'll end up as Texas' leading receiver in the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe? Jordan Whittington, shown fighting for yardage after a catch in last year's Oklahoma game, figures to be one of Quinn Ewers' top targets.

More catches: Worthy or Whittington?

Kirk Bohls: Jordan Whittington. Because ULM has to double-team Worthy.

Cedric Golden: Jordan Whittington.

Brian Davis: Xavier Worthy.

Danny Davis: Jordan Whittington.

Jason Jarrett: Xavier Worthy.

Richard Tijerina: Jordan Whittington. Plenty of catches to be made over the middle of the field.

More:Plenty of questions linger, but Texas can start providing answers in opener against ULM

Texas' third-leading receiver will be ...

Kirk Bohls: Tarique Milton. He's the clear No. 3 receiver until one of the tight ends, probably Ja'Tavion Sanders, proves himself.

Cedric Golden: Brenen Thompson. Four catches for 65 yards.

Brian Davis: Savion Red. Too many players have mentioned him throughout August for it to be a fluke.

Danny Davis: Gabe Sulser. If I get the chance to shout-out a University of Montana graduate, I am going to take it.

Jason Jarrett: Bijan Robinson. Will get plenty of touches in the passing game.

Richard Tijerina: Ja'Tavion Sanders. Yeah, I said it.

Which Texas freshman will have the biggest game?

Kirk Bohls: Jaylan Guilbeau. His teammates have raved about the defensive back. Betting he's all over the field.

Cedric Golden: Quinn Ewers. The quarterback will have quite the day. Look for four touchdown passes and 280 yards through the air.

Brian Davis: Left tackle Kelvin Banks. By season’s end, Texas fans will be saying, “Thank goodness he’s out there.”

Danny Davis: Kelvin Banks. This is self-explanatory.

Jason Jarrett: Banks. The true freshman will thrive at DKR.

Richard Tijerina: Quinn Ewers. I don't think Hudson Card will play as much as some of us are thinking he will. Ewers needs as many game snaps as possible before Alabama.

Which Texas defensive back will make the biggest play?

Kirk Bohls: Anthony Cook. I'll go with the experienced hand.

Cedric Golden: Anthony Cook. He'll grab an interception in the first half.

Brian Davis: D'Shawn Jamison.

Danny Davis: Anthony Cook.

Jason Jarrett: D'Shawn Jamison.

Richard Tijerina: Anthony Cook.

The offensive game ball will go to ...

Kirk Bohls: Bijan Robinson. If he doesn't top 100 yards and score once or twice, I'll be totally shocked. This should be a stats game for the best running back in college football.

Cedric Golden: Xavier Worthy. He'll haul in a couple of long touchdowns.

Brian Davis: Bijan Robinson. First game out this season, he’ll want to make a big statement.

Danny Davis: Quinn Ewers. I'm not sure if Quinn will post eye-popping stats, but he'll get a chance to showcase that promise and get his first start out of the way with Alabama on deck.

Jason Jarrett: Bijan Robinson. Twenty-plus rushes, four-plus receptions, two TDs.

Richard Tijerina: Quinn Ewers. He'll get the nod over Xavier Worthy, who'll also have a big day.

How long will Quinn Ewers play in Saturday's season opener? Last year, in Texas' 38-18 opening win over Louisiana, head coach Steve Sarkisian kept his starter, Hudson Card, in the game until near the end of the third quarter.

The defensive game ball will go to ...

Kirk Bohls: DeMarvion Overshown. He'll be the playmaker on this unit. He'll morph into Pete Kwiatkowski's leading pass rusher.

Cedric Golden: DeMarvion Overshown. He will set up shop in the ULM backfield and force a turnover on a strip sack.

Brian Davis: T'Vondre Sweat. Probably won’t lead the team in tackles, but he'll make his presence known.

Danny Davis: Jaylan Ford. Jaylan has had some nice moments as a Longhorn, but let's see if the junior can truly break out and lead this defense.

Jason Jarrett: DeMarvion Overshown. Will lead the team in QB pressures.

Richard Tijerina: DeMarvion Overshown. Two sacks and will lead the team in tackles.
