Prosecutors in Spain are calling for Shakira to do some hard time.

The “Beautiful Liar” singer is accused of owing a whopping $15 million in unpaid taxes for income she earned in 2012 to 2014, while living in Spain.

Legal documents detailing six charges, obtained by Reuters, claim Shakira bought a house in Barcelona in 2012 and didn’t pay taxes. The property reportedly became a family home for the Colombia native and her then-partner, Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique.

Prosecutors are asking for an eight-year prison sentence and a fine of $24 million if the singer is found guilty.

Shakira, whose given name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, rejected an offer a settlement offer and opted for a trial, which a date has yet to be set for.

Reps for the three-time Grammy Award winner said in a statement to People she is “fully confident of her innocence” and sees the case as a “violation of her rights.”

“Shakira has always cooperated and abided by the law, demonstrating impeccable conduct as an individual and a taxpayer, and faithfully following the counsel of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, a prestigious and globally recognized tax firm,” the statement continued.

Known for international hit songs such as “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes,” the 45-year-old mother of two recently served as a judge on “The Voice” and performed with Jennifer Lopez at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show.
