Prospective buyers tour Turbotville Elementary School

Feb. 15—TURBOTVILLE — Prospective buyers had a chance to walk through the vacant Turbotville Elementary School at an open house Thursday afternoon. The school is located at 301 Pine St., Turbotville. It has been vacant for eight months.

Warrior Run School District directors recently reduced the asking price to $600,000. The structure, which is on a lot size of 10.3 acres, is being sold "as is," said Re/Max agent Tiffany Forman. "A lot of people have walked through and had different thoughts about what this could be."

The total square footage of the school is 55,590 square feet. The one-story school was originally built in 1937.

Kevin Moll, of BD Rentals, was there for the walkthrough. Moll checked out various areas of the structure.

"The building is in good shape structurally," Moll said. "It would have all the things you'd want." He particularly mentioned the kitchen.

One possibility, would be reconfiguring this school as an independent living space, he said.

"It could be repurposed," Forman said. "Whether you envision a residential conversion, commercial venture, or community center. And the grounds provide room for expansion or outdoor amenities."
