Protest Held for Daunte Wright as Jury Selection Begins in Kim Potter Trial

A protest was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 30, as the jury selection began in the trial of Kim Potter, the former police officer charged with the manslaughter of Daunte Wright.

Footage by Ann Treacy shows protesters rallying near the Hennepin County Government Center. “Let Minnesota not become known at a place where cops kill black and brown people, but where juries convict the one that do,” Treacy wrote in a caption on Instagram.

Wright was pulled over in a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center last April that ended in Potter fatally shooting him. Potter said she meant to use her Taser on Wright but grabbed her handgun by mistake.
