- Here's a live look now from outside of the Hennepin County Government Center where more than a dozen organizations are gathering for a protest. Our David Schuman is nearby with what's happening. David.

DAVID SCHUMAN: Frank, this crowd has been building here for several minutes, almost an hour. And you can see that it looks like they are about to start marching, could be any minute now. They're in the street, standing behind a banner that says "Justice for George Floyd and All Stolen Lives." We also have a view of this crowd from above you can take a look at.

More than 20 Twin Cities organizations have teamed up to put this together. They have their demands that they're protesting for, first and foremost being a conviction of Derek Chauvin with the maximum sentence. Then there's the bigger-picture issues, passage of police reform legislation, creating a community board to oversee police for greater accountability, and dropping any charges against protesters from last summer and the fall.

There's also an effort to put dozens of padlocks up on the fencing around the government center here as a way to remember people killed by police. We will have another live report for you at 6:00 o'clock as this March appears to be getting started any moment now.
