Protester Throws Red Paint on Supreme Court After Heathrow Runway Decision

A protestor threw red paint near the entrance to the Supreme Court in London, England, on December 16, following a decision to approve the expansion of Heathrow airport.

Heathrow Airport won a Supreme Court challenge over the Government’s decision to give the go-ahead for a third runway, opposed by environmental charities Friends of the Earth and Plan B Earth – who argued that the appeal should be dismissed by the court.

Video shows a protester walk along the pavement outside the Supreme Court building as a man is being interviewed. Paint then splashes on to the building and police outside the court grab a woman whose hands are covered in red paint.

“These judges in here have signed a death warrant for millions of people,” the woman is heard saying as she is held by police. Credit: Extinction Rebellion UK via Storyful
