Protesters Block Strikebreakers in Los Angeles During Teachers' Industrial Action

Protesters waved signs and chanted, demanding that administrators and substitute teachers filling in for demonstrators go home, during a second day of union-organized strikes in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 15.

Video taken in Los Angeles’ Koreatown shows protesters chanting, “Turn around,” and preventing strikebreakers from entering a parking garage to report to work.

Tuesday was the second day of strikes planned by United Teachers Los Angeles, a union representing public school teachers. Monday’s protests saw 32,000 teachers in the second-largest school district in the United States leave work to protest, according to local media.
