Protesters gather in Sewickley against Roe v. Wade overturn, line up near Route 65 for hours
Hundreds took to the streets on Sunday in Sewickley to show their opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
“Pretty upset that I have to come and, you know, spend half my day out here with my children to, you know, protect their future and protect other people’s future to make our voices heard,” said Meredith Johnson, a protester.
After marching, protesters lined up along route 65 just past the Sewickley Bridge for hours as some drivers honked in support.
“As soon as I got here, I just burst into tears because it’s just, you know, you feel so alone, and then when you see that there are so many people, you know, on the same page to you, it just feels really good,” said Kate Csallner, the organizer of the event.
Children and men were also in attendance to stand with the women supporting what they believe in.
“I have two daughters, my mom. Just all the women in my life. This is really unfair and threatens the rights of everybody,” said Tyler Sachs.
