Protesters Sprayed and Stun Grenade Deployed During Dispersal of University of Texas Encampment

Protesters were sprayed and a stun grenade deployed by police on the University of Texas campus in Austin on Monday, April 29, footage from the action shows.

Footage recorded by Lina Fisher shows police using a targeted spray at close range to protesters.

A loud boom is heard at one point in the footage, with bystanders commenting that it was a stun grenade.

Local media, citing the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, said 79 protesters were arrested.
