Protesters Topple Statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in Virginia

Protesters tore down a statue of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederate States during the Civil War, in Richmond, Virginia, late on June 10.

This footage, posted to Twitter by Dylan Garner, shows protesters cheering as the statue is towed from the scene on Monument Avenue.

According to NBC 12, the statue, erected in 1907, was toppled around 11 pm and a large crowd of protesters sang as it was removed.
