Protestors Return to Huntington Beach to Call for End to California's Coronavirus Lockdown

Demonstrators returned to the streets in Huntington Beach, California, on May 9 to protest against the state’s continued coronavirus lockdown orders, video shows.

The state government modified California’s stay-at-home order on May 8 and entered “Stage 2” of their re-opening plan, meaning in “addition to essential activity, curbside retail is allowed, along with the infrastructure to support it.”

Reopen protests also took place in Kansas and Washington on Saturday, among other parts of the country.

As of May 8, there were 64,561 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in California, and 2,678 deaths, according to the California Department of Public Health
