PSA: Gen Z has discovered ‘Jealous’ by Nick Jonas, and now the song is trending on TikTok

The resurgence of this once-popular song is yet another reminder of how Gen Z is taking old things and making them new again.

It was only a matter of time before Gen Z got their hands on what was likely one of the buzziest songs of 2017, “Jealous” by Nick Jonas. For Jonas Brothers fans, this song indicated that the youngest bandmate was coming into his own as a solo artist.

Fast-forward six years, and Gen Z discovered the track and has, unsurprisingly, turned it into TikTok’s latest trend. Users are seen putting on a pair of black sunglasses while strutting toward the camera and into a full-on “party” room with their phone flashlights in tow. As a sped-up version of Jonas’ track plays, they’re seen livin’ it up.

Angel (@aangeiiki), who presumably created the trend, is seen greeting her friend before breaking into dance as the song’s chorus hits.

“this is exactly how i dance to this song”

“yes ma’am the song omg,” a TikTok user replied.

“this song is my guilty pleasure I love it sm and bacon I think,” another said, referencing Nick Jonas’ single “Bacon.”

“this is exactly how i dance to this song,” another revealed.

Jess (@jessimping) shared her take on the trend.

“it’s everywhere”

“im tired of pretending that this song isnt one of the best ever made,” one user replied.

“THIS IS EVERYTHING,” another claimed.

“it’s everywhere,” someone wrote.

17-year-old Cammy (@camyern) recreated the trend outside.

“I love y’all this is such vibes haha”

“i like this energy,” one user wrote.

“The cameraman is cameraring,” another joked.

“I love y’all this is such vibes haha,” someone replied.

Gen Z appreciating the musical stylings of a solo-singing Nick Jonas? Now, that’s a trend we’re here for.
