PSA 'WandaVision' Fans: Elizabeth Olsen *Is* Related To Mary-Kate And Ashley

With the release of WandaVision on Disney+, actress Elizabeth Olsen has become an even bigger star than she was before. Now, it's safe to say she's a household name. Before starring in the hit TV show, she appeared as Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, in several Avengers movies, Godzilla, and who can forget her hilarious performance in Ingrid Goes West?

But, since she's become the face of one of the buzziest series this year, many WandaVision fans are suddenly realizing that she's related to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Her family has never been a secret (more on that in a sec), but she's never flaunted her famous siblings.

Case in I-can't-believe-I-have-to-make-this-point, a viral tweet: "For those of you just learning (??) that Elizabeth Olsen is Mary-Kate and Ashley’s sister, may I present the song they released specifically to dunk on Lizzie," comedy writer Georgia Shenk shared earlier this week, after Twitter collectively lost its mind when fans realized the connection.

But even though many fans are *just* realizing that Elizabeth comes from a famous family, she's always been painfully aware of it. At one time, she even considered changing her name, because going to auditions was complicated by the fact that her sisters have been famous basically since birth.

"I couldn’t walk in a room without everyone already having an opinion. The thing about nepotism is the fear that you don’t earn or deserve the work," she told The Sun. "There was even a part of me when I was a little girl that thought if I’m gonna be an actress I’m going to go by Elizabeth Chase, which is my middle name."

So no one confuses the Olsen fam again, here's a handy-dandy guide to Elizabeth, Mary-Kate, Ashley, and the rest of their siblings:

James Trent Olsen

As a kid, James (who now goes by the name Trent) appeared in a few of Mary-Kate and Ashley's home videos. Now 36, he's no longer an actor. Even though he has a public Instagram, Trent keeps a pretty low profile, and his life seems pretty normal (based on photos he's shared). He's multi-talented, and now writes comic books for a living, per Cosmopolitan.

Fun fact: He and Lizzie are the namesake behind Mary-Kate and Ashley's label, Elizabeth and James.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

After leaving Hollywood, Mary-Kate and Ashley set their sights on the fashion world, collaborating on the lines Elizabeth and James and The Row, which are now highly respected labels. Since they announced their joint retirement, Mary-Kate has taken a handful of projects like Beastly in 2011 and a guest appearance on Weeds in 2007. Ashley hasn't acted at all.

Courtney Taylor Olsen

After their parents split up and their father, David Olsen, remarried, Courtney Olsen was born. (She is James, Mary-Kate, Ashley, and Elizabeth's half-sister.) At 25, Courtney is the youngest Olsen sister, and like her half-siblings, she tries to stay out of the spotlight. However, she's something of a micro-influencer with more than 10,000 Instagram followers.

The only indication that she's related to the Olsens is a photo featuring Elizabeth on an Avengers poster, in which she references "admiring my badass of a sister."

Jake Olsen

At 23, Jake is the youngest Olsen, and he too lives a private life. Though some sources say he considered modeling at one point, it doesn't seem like he's currently working as model (unless he goes by another name).
