"Clearly, we're missing players but it's the same for Real Madrid and it's always like that. It's a shame, a real shame, but I have confidence in my players and I'm sure that we'll have a good team on the pitch tomorrow which will be able to perform well enough to cause trouble for Real Madrid."

"Now the transfer window is closed, he (Neymar) is our player and it's never been an issue between me and my player."

STORY: Paris St Germain coach Thomas Tuchel said on Tuesday (September 17) that he was confident on the eve of the side's Champions League match against Real Madrid despite the absence of star forwards Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

A hamstring injury for Mbappe and hip problems for Cavani mean both are ruled out for the opening group stage game.

Neymar is serving a two-match ban for insulting match officials following PSG's defeat by Manchester United in the round of 16 last season.

Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani netted 11 of PSG's 20 goals in their Champions League campaign last season, and the trio will be crucial again in 2019-20 as the club look to go deep in Europe's elite competition.

The spotlight at Wednesday's (September 18) match will also be on keeper Keylor Navas who joined from Real Madrid earlier this month, where he had been back-up to Belgian Thibaut Courtois.
