PSP investigate church thefts in Northumberland County

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— State police say they are investigating who may have stolen donations from two Northumberland County churches.

Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, in Jordan Township, and Zion Church, in Herndon Borough, both reported having donations stolen from their places of worship in April.

Seven arrested during sobriety checkpoint in Bloomsburg

On April 20, investigators say someone broke into Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ and stole $50 worth of donated canned goods and $25 in cash donations.

Sometime between March 31 and April 7, $550 in cash and $25 worth of donation envelopes were stolen from the Zion Church according to state police.

Troopers said investigations into both thefts are ongoing. There is no indication from state police that the thefts are connected.
