When troopers arrived on the scene, they say the driver, now identified as 48-year-old Amanda Gavason from Millmont, displayed signs of drug impairment. Police say they ordered Gavason to exit the car, but she fled south on State Road instead.

Troopers on the scene say they pursued Gavason for five miles before removing her from the car.

Gavason was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding arrest, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, and other traffic-related offenses.
