According to a release, the suspected teen had been involved in a high-speed pursuit at around 5:45 a.m., had wrecked his car and escaped on foot. Police said a follow up investigation revealed the suspect had returned to his house on the 500 block of Dallas Street. Officers reportedly were able to evacuate members of the residence but the suspect refused to exit the house.

Negotiators attempted to talk the suspect into coming out of the house, however, after many hours of unsuccessful attempts, a Rook Tactical Armored vehicle was used to “gain access and provide visibility within the closed structure.”

The suspect was located in the home and taken into custody.
