Public Records: Fairfield County restaurant inspections

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Fairfield County Health Department from Jan. 1 to 12.

Jan. 3

Mugshots Restaurant, LLC, 111 S. Main St., Pleasantville. There was no employee health agreement on file - corrected during inspection. A storage container of chicken wings with a Dec. 26 discard date marked was located in the cooler under the dough roller - corrected during inspection.

K&C Restaurants LLC, Pizza Crossing, 1407 Tiki Lane, Lancaster. Observed ice machine bin with residues on the walls.

Maria's Mexican Restaurant and Cantina, 129 E. Main St., Lancaster. Observed residue in the ice machine and the soda gun holster. Diced tomatoes were date marked Dec. 26, 2023.

Watson's Sunoco, 1510 Sheridan Drive, Lancaster. Employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health.

Jan. 4

Eagles F. O. E. #2120, 1936 E. Main St., Lancaster. Observed eggs stored above pie. There was residue on the potato slicer. The soup in the refrigerator was not date-marked.

Amvets Post #1985 Guy E. Lee, 700 S. Maple St., Lancaster. Observed raw eggs and bacon stored above ready-to-eat foods. Observed unlabeled spray bottles of chemicals.

Jan. 5

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant. The person in charge (PIC) is unable to demonstrate knowledge by having no critical violations. Observed employee washing hands in three-compartment sink. Employee poured new shipment of broccoli into mop sink to rinse it - corrected during inspection. Raw chicken and raw meats are stored above ready-to-eat foods. Observed food residue on the meat slicer.

Hide-A-Way Hills Club Lodge, 1 Lodge Lane, Hideaway Hills. Observed residue in the soda gun holster.

Barrel Bar and Burgers, 83 E. Canal St., Carroll. Bacon in the walk-in cooler was in a container, but not date marked - corrected during inspection.

Fisher's Restaurant, 50 N. High St., Carroll. An open tub of chicken salad in the refrigerator had been opened but not date marked. It was well within the "use by" date on the carton and the PIC explained they thought they were to go by that date for expiration.

Todd's Mountain View Drive-In, 540 W. Fair Ave., Lancaster. Observed unlabeled spray bottle of chemical. Observed cutting board with deep cuts and stains.

Main Event, 601 E. Main St., Lancaster. Observed raw chicken stored on the top shelf with peppers. Foods in the refrigerator were not date-marked.

Jan. 9

Berne Station, 5355 Bremen Road SE, Lancaster. Eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods - corrected during inspection.

Jan. 10

Refuge Inc, 3484 Cincinnati Zanesville Road NE, Lancaster. Raw shell eggs are stored over top of ready-to-eat foods like sauces and produce in both 2-door coolers. Observed numerous red-lid food storage containers with leftovers in them not date marked.

American Legion Post 11, 279 Canal St., Lancaster. Observed unlabeled chemical bottle - corrected during inspection.

Jan. 11

Mod Pizza, 1854 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Observed some gnats in the kitchen area. The PIC explained that a new light trap had just been installed and the facility is scheduled to have drains foam sprayed to control the gnats.

American Legion Post 283, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington. The inside bin of the ice machine walls and lip had residue present.

Carroll, OPCO LLC, Arbors at Carroll, 3680 Dolson Court NW, Carroll. The juice nozzle of the juice machine is dirty - corrected during inspection. Observed the chicken entree at 122 F. It was discovered that the entree had been placed in the hot well at 174 F, but the switch had accidentally been turned off - corrected during inspection.
