Public Records: Restaurant inspections from Muskingum County

The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, between Jan. 4 to 12.

Jan. 4

Lock 9 Pizza, LLC, Main St., Duncan Falls. The ingredient list for baked goods was not displayed on a self-service unit; corrected during inspection.

Par Mar Subway #249, 2455 West Pike, Zanesville. Clean condiment bottles had a buildup of food residue and stored in a dirty storage bin.

Horse Shoe Bar & Grill, 213 Main St., Duncan Falls. Utensils/equipment stored in the hand wash sink; corrected during inspection. A spray bottle with cleaner did not have a label; corrected during inspection.

Par Mar Store #49 A&W, 2445 West Pike, Zanesville. Ice scoop stored in a bucket of moldy water. The ice bin was emptied and the scoop was sanitized; corrected during inspection.

Subway Frazeysburg, 35 State St., Frazeysburg. Mold buildup was on the ice machine and ice dispenser of the soda machine.

Jan. 8

Careytown Child Care, 527 Pershing Road, Zanesville. A large number of dented cans on shelves; corrected during inspection.

Jan. 9

Comfort Inn & Suites, 725 Zane St., Zanesville. Items were stored in the hand sink; corrected during inspection.

GP Mart LLC, 9765 West Pike, Hopewell. Raw bacon stored above ready-to-eat foods; corrected during inspection. Some RTE time and temperature controlled for safety (TCS) foods were not properly date marked during inspection; corrected during inspection.

Longhorn Steakhouse #5457, 3557 Maple Ave., Zanesville. Ice scoop handle and soda gun stored in direct contact with ice; corrected during inspection.

Jan. 10

El Palenque Mexican Restaurant, 269 Main St., Duncan Falls. The ice scoop handle was in direct contact with the ice; corrected during inspection. Beef and chicken were held at 118 F. Food was at proper temperature an hour before the inspection. The owner had the cook reheat the meats to the proper temperature at the time of inspection; corrected during the inspection.

Bob's Pizza LA Drive Thru, 4140 Roseville Road, Zanesville. Items were observed being stored in the hand sink; corrected during inspection.

Jan. 12

Wolford’s Roadside Market, 266 W. Third St., Frazeysburg. Raw bacon stored above RTE foods; corrected during inspection.

Starfire – Shell, 2655 West Pike, Zanesville. Mold buildup on the ice dispenser of the soda machine. The prep table in the back room was not functioning properly and was at 55 F. TCS foods were discarded. The cooler should not be used until the cooler is repaired and can hold food at 41 F or below.

McDonald’s #6369, 4995 E. Pike, Zanesville. Items stored in the hand wash sink; corrected during inspection.
