Public survey goes live for proposed Hanover Borough rental inspection ordinance

A public opinion survey on a proposed rental registry and inspection ordinance has been released by Hanover Borough.

The survey, which was posted on the borough's Facebook account, can be accessed at the following web address: www.research.net/r/HanoverRentalRegistration_2023.

The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, when the survey will stop accepting responses, according to the post by the borough.

The results of the survey will be analyzed by a third party to gauge public opinion on the ordinance.

Answers to the survey will be treated confidentially, the survey states.

The survey had been approved during the November meeting of the Hanover Borough Council, after being first proposed by the borough's public safety committee in early 2023.

Borough officials, during the meetings, said the survey will be distributed in Hanover's newsletter, as well as on the borough's website, social media, and paper copies will be available in the borough office or public library for those who cannot answer it electronically.

Questions about the survey should be directed to the borough's Department of Code Enforcement at 717-637-3877 x 1004, according to the post.

The proposed ordinance is not yet on the agenda for the council, while it awaits results of the survey to gauge public opinion on the ordinance.
