Publix has launched a donation program for those affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Donations may be made in any amount and added to grocery totals when checking out at the register, according to a news release, with all donated funds going to the Red Cross effort to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the Ukraine crisis.

“Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine,” said Publix Director of Community Relations Dwaine Stevens in the release. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide a way for our customers and associates to help support the growing humanitarian need both in Ukraine and in neighboring countries sheltering refugees.”

Donations will go toward food distribution, medicine delivery, medical supplies, evacuation assistance and help in providing shelter, according to the release. The end date for the donation program is based on customer response.
