Pizza with the President in Pueblo West

River of Grace Church, 84 S. Masters Drive | noon to 2 p.m. | Pueblo West Metro Board President Nick Madero is hosting a community conversation event to discuss local topics of concern with residents. Free pizza slices will be provided by Pueblo West Domino's Pizza.

Movies in the Park at Civic Center Park in Pueblo West

61 E. Civic Center Plaza | 6:30 p.m. | This Pueblo West Metro District event will feature the movie "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," as well as a food truck rally. Bring a blanket or chairs. Popcorn is free.

Avant-Garde musical improvisation at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 7-8:30 p.m. | Performances include electric guitar and cello improvisations from Chicago-based Wolf3000; the Eclectic Electric String Quartet, which has members from from Chicago, Pueblo and Taos, New Mexico; plus Ryan Seward. Admission is $5-$10. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Saturday, June 17

Bus to Cripple Creek departing from North Side Kmart

3415 N. Elizabeth St. | 8:30 a.m. | The Armijo Family Reunion Committee will sponsor the Cripple Creek fundraiser bus trip. The bus will leave the North Side Kmart parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and depart Cripple Creek at 4 p.m.  There will be a 50/50 raffle, bingo, drinks, snacks and small prize giveaways. Summer Solstice Fest and Lantern Parade at Runyon Lake

100 Locust St. | 4-10 p.m. | The Pueblo Friends of the Arkansas River is set to host the free community event featuring a 30-plus booth artisan market, family activities, a beer garden and food trucks. The lantern parade will begin about 7:30 p.m. and will go around the northeast trail at Runyon Lake. Bring a lantern and celebrate the longest day of the year. Father's Day celebration at Holiday Pueblo Regent

100 San Carlos Road | 2 p.m. | The senior living community is creating a space to celebrate all dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles and father figures. Guests will enjoy beer, pretzels, live musical entertainment and games for everyone to play. “You don’t have to be a father to be a dad, so we wanted to open this event to all father figures in our area,” said Natasha Cason, engage life coordinator at Holiday Pueblo Regent.

Latin American musical performance at Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

Santa Fe Ave. | 7 p.m. | The Latin music sensation LADAMA celebrates culture and spirit through music from their respective countries of origin — Brazil, Columbia, Venezuela and the United States. The band offers Latin alternative music with traditional and nontraditional instruments from across the Americas. Cost ranges from $15 for students and $20 for members to $25 for adults. Tickets are available at tickets.sdc-arts.org.

'Trout on the Route' Auction and Reception at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 6-8 p.m. | This event will raise funds for the nonprofit Pueblo Friends of the Arkansas River. It will feature the auctioning off of 24-inch and 36-inch aluminum trout artistically decorated by local artists, as well as a silent auction of art works, gift cards and other items.

Music, Malt & Mead in the Garden at Abriendo Inn

300 W. Abriendo Ave. | 6-9 p.m. | Carlos and the Boys will perform jazz music. Tickets are $15 and are available at theabriendoinn.com/events.

Friday, June 23

Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals at Colorado State Fairgrounds

Southwest Motors Event Center, 950 S. Prairie Ave. | 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and again from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday | This annual event is a gathering of more than 2,000 classic and custom cars from throughout the country, including 30-plus-year-old street rods, muscle cars, hot rods as well as classic cars and trucks. Spotlight Builder will be Keven Zerby of Canon City. Manufacturers and distributors will show off their latest automotive parts and accessories, and local crafters will host a “Women’s World” arts and craft show in the Creative Arts building. Live entertainment will run 6-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $19 for visitors age 13 and older; $17 for active military or those 60 and older, and $6 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger are admitted free.

210 N. Santa Fe | 7:30 p.m. | The Evolve Dance Project and students will present the Summer Intensive 2023 performance. Dancers also will be performing a few pieces from "Smoke Screen". The event is free.

Pueblo West Concert Series at Civic Center Park

61 E. Civic Center Plaza | Cornhole Tournament at 10 a.m. | all other activities from 11 a.m. to dark, with concert in the evening | Kids activities, carnival games, live music, food trucks, beer garden and yard games. Classic rock band Knuckin' Futz will perform. The event is free.

The band has crafted a unique and extraordinary style of music that expertly fuses Tejano conjunto music, Norteño folk rhythms, pop ballads and rock. Vacation Bible School at Wesley United Methodist Church

85 Stanford Ave. | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, June 25-29 | All children in the community are invited to participate free of charge. The school will focus on Bible Heroes through stories in both the Old and New Testaments. A morning snack and lunch are included. Call 719-561-8746 for reservations.
