Pulaski County deputies identify teen killed in Saturday shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office have identified the teen victim in a shooting that took place Saturday night.

Authorities identified the victim in the shooting as 17-year-old Justin Heavrin Jr.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office investigating Saturday shooting; juvenile injured

On Saturday, deputies responded to the 10000 block of Hilaro Springs Road where a juvenile victim, later identified as Heavrin, was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside of a home. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

On Sunday, deputies arrested 18-year-old Juan Ruiz in connection with the incident. Ruiz is facing a charge of capital murder.

Officials said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
