Nearly 2,000 military personnel and about 300 pieces of equipment will be participating in the exercises.

The main Polish unit involved is the 21st Podhale Rifle Brigade, but other units from the 18th Separate Mechanized Division are also participating. The exercise focuses on armored and mechanized units of the Polish Ground Forces, but gunners, sappers, chemists, anti-aircraft guns, and scouts are all involved.

“The purpose of the exercises is to improve the interoperability of the forces participating, as well as to test the ability to plan, organize and conduct tactical operations in cooperation with allies,” Major Przemysław Lipczyński told PAP.

“It is the command and headquarters that work out the decisions regarding what will happen in the theater of operations.”

  • Integrated fire extinguishing.

Concurrently with the Puma-22 exercises, which are the largest military maneuvers of the Visegrad Group countries this year, the System-22, Gepard-22 and San-22 command and staff exercises are taking place.
