Puppets bring purpose to puppeteer in lockdown

Puppets bring life to lockdown

Yohana Yara is fighting boredom

and gaining fans online with her puppets

Two months after she moved to Madrid

Spain went into lockdown

and all her plans fell through

With no work and lots of free time

she started a YouTube channel

where she performs

stories, poems and songs for kids

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) COLOMBIAN ACTRESS AND PUPPETEER, YOHANA YARA, HOLDING HER PUPPET "LEO THE LION", SAYING:

"Doing online performances helped me, it was therapeutic and stopped me from feeling down and it gave me a creative outlet. I think that in times of crisis creativity surges and you start working with what you have at home. As I'm a puppeteer, fortunately I have a lot of puppets I can work with."
