Baxter is a lucky pup and does not let his “Popeye" status slow him down. Baxter is a lover. Baxter is outgoing with people and well-mannered with dogs. Baxter has fur that resembles a Jack Russell, but the other breeds involved in Baxter’s creation are unknown. We are guessing he will be a medium-sized dog about 30–35 pounds when fully grown. He currently weighs about 20 pounds. He is around 7 months old (as of May 1, 2019). Baxter was found by the Valencia County Shelter staff with a severe injury to his eye. Luckily there was money in a local vet account for the shelter to have his eye removed. How his eye was injured is not known. We don’t expect there to be any health concerns due to his missing eye. Baxter will be a good companion for a family with kids and another playful doggies.

Bravo, Doberman pinscher mix

Bravo is a sweet male Doberman pinscher puppy being cared for at Doberman Rescue of New Mexico.

Bravo is a social animal, and he loves other dogs. Have no fear: he is already house-trained. He has all his shots.

Notes from Bravo's caretakers:

Bravo is a red male, a Doberman mix, 9 to 12 months old. He comes to DRNM from Deming where he was a stray, coming in with what looked like an attack by a coyote. He is healing from his wounds and enjoying his time with his foster sisters. Bravo likes other dogs but seems unsure about the cats. He is fine around adults and teenagers but hasn't been assessed around young children yet. Bravo loves to play and will be working on his inside manners and learning what a leash is while in his foster home. He will be getting vetted and neutered in the next couple weeks.

Willow, bluetick coonhound and Australian cattle dog mix

Willow is a darling female bluetick coonhound and Australian cattle dog puppy in the care of PACA/AAR.

Willow will get along great with other dogs. Willow has been vaccinated.

From Willow's current caretaker:

She is a people oriented, fun-loving, gregarious puppy aged about 12 weeks old (as of 5/1/19). She loves to play with dogs, go on walks, explore the town, and hang out with her family. Willow is expected to be around 50 pounds when fully grown, although this is an estimate based on her oversized paws. Willow is nearly house-trained, crate trained and is a fast learner. She needs to be in a home with children over the age of 10 due to her puppy mouthiness. Typical of cattle dogs, she likes to use her mouth to explore and move things. She has improved vastly with the mouthing in a week at her foster home and it is expected that behavior will diminish considerably with consistency. She is a medium energy dog and will need walks daily plus some additional exercise. She enjoys other dogs but needs a young dog companion willing to show her the ropes of appropriate play. Willow will make someone a truly enjoyable furry companion.
