A puppy has made an incredible recovery after he was shot 18 times with a BB gun.

Brody, an abandoned labrador puppy, was found with the shocking injuries in Rock Hill, South Carolina - and two teenagers have now been charged with the crime.

The adorable puppy is now being treated at the Ebenezer Animal Hospital, where he is set to make a full recovery.

April Sprawn, who works at the hospital, said: ‘He seems like he’s gonna pull through. He’s a strong little boy. He’s really, really sweet.’

But while Brody is now on the road to recovery, medics have been unable to put him under anaesthesia to remove the pellets.

Instead, they will be only be removed if they cause him serious discomfort.

Dr Jay Hreiz, who is treating Brody, said: ‘He’s really young, so he has a remarkable ability to heal at his age. Brody may be able to live a healthy normal life with all those BBs in him.’

Brody’s story also has a happy ending - with the home receiving hundreds of offers of adoption from potential new owners.

He will now be re-homed after completing his hospital treatment.
