Purdue basketball meets Iowa in the Big Ten tournament championship game

The Purdue Boilermakers go for their second Big Ten basketball tournament championship against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Purdue (27-6) won the event in 2009 and has been runner-up three times, most recently in 2018. The Boilermakers held off Michigan State to reach the title game behind Jaden Ivey (22 points, 9 rebounds) and balance behind him — notably Eric Hunter Jr.'s 11 points, all in the second half.

Iowa (25-9) rallied from a late 9-point deficit to defeat Indiana in a semifinal game on Jordan Bohannon's banked-in 3-pointer in the closing seconds. Keegan Murray had 32 points (8-of-10 3-pointers) and 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots.

Purdue defeated Iowa twice this season: 77-70 on Dec. 3 and 83-73 on Jan. 27.
