Purdue basketball promotes Caleb Furst as Buddy the Elf in food drive

Caleb Furst probably won't come out of the tunnel in a green leotard Wednesday night, but the sophomore is inviting Purdue basketball fans to get into the Christmas spirit.

And he does a decent Will Ferrell impression as Buddy the Elf.

The team is promoting Furst as Buddy for a food drive. Fans who bring five non-perishable food items to Wednesday night's game against Hofstra get a poster featuring Furst as the famed star of "Elf."

The Boilermakers also promoted it online. Check out Furst saying, "Bobinski! That's fun to say!" upon crossing paths with Purdue athletic director Mike Bobinski.

And compare it to Ferrell's original performance.
