The Golden Gophers (7-9, 1-5) have lost 3 of their past 4 games, most recently 78-60 to Illinois. Minnesota beat Ohio State last Thursday, preceded by narrow losses to Nebraska and Wisconsin. Dawson Garcia leads the Gophers with 15.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Jamison Battle adds 12.9 points and 3.8 rebounds, and Ta'lon Cooper 11.0 points, including 55.6% on 3-pointers, and 6.0 assists.

Edey outrebounded Minnesota – yes, the entire team – 22-18. Jamison Battle led the Gophers with 21, while Cooper had 15 (3-of-4 3s) and 8 assists.

The 7-4 junior is the frontrunner for national Player of the Year midway through the season, averaging 21.9 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots. He makes 61.4% of his shots from the field and 75.4% on free throws.
