Purdue basketball remains atop the Big Ten standings with a visit from Nebraska on the way.

The No. 3 (USA Today) Boilermakers (15-1, 4-1) shook off Penn State in the second half of their last outing behind Zach Edey (30 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocked shots), Fletcher Loyer (17 points, 4 3-pointers) and Braden Smith (15 points on 3 3-pointers, 7 assists, 6 rebounds).

The Cornhuskers (9-8, 2-4) lost to Illinois on Tuesday. Derrick Walker (13.7 points, 7.8 rebounds) patrols the post and Sam Giesel (11.1, 5.4, 4.2 assists) is all over the court. Nebraska struggles with its shooting (44.4% overall, 29.4% on 3s, 64.1% on free throws).

Purdue beats Nebraska in overtime

This will be teams' second meeting of the season. Purdue held off host Nebraska in overtime on Dec. 10. The Cornhuskers rallied from a 14-point deficit to send the game to overtime on Keisei Tominaga's 3-pointer with 8 seconds left in regulation. Braden Smith hit 4 late free throws to seal Purdue's win.

Nebraska largely bottled up Edey (11 points, 17 rebounds) and Purdue got little offense from anyone else besides Loyer (22 points), and he struggled from long range (2-of-10). The Boilermakers hit 39.7% from the field, 24.1% on 3s and 60% on free throws.

Zach Edey watch

Purdue's 7-4 junior averages 21.9 points, 13.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots. He makes 63.1% from the field and 74.1% of his free throws. He has been Big Ten Player of the Week four times, including for last week.
