WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. − Sen. Todd Young (R-Indiana) announced Tuesday that Purdue University President Mung Chiang will be his guest at the State of the Union.
“I’m excited to have Dr. Chiang join me tonight (Feb. 7)," Young said in a release. "Dr. Chiang was an early supporter of the Endless Frontier legislation that became the CHIPS and Science Act, and Purdue University will be an instrumental partner in the implementation of key education and research components of the new law."
Chiang became the 13th president of Purdue University in West Lafayette when long-serving President Mitch Daniels stepped down at the end of 2022.
The State of the Union will air at 9 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday on several broadcast networks, as well as SiriusXM, Radio.com and TuneIn Radio.
Other guests, according to USA Today, scheduled to attend include:
Brandon Tsay and the mother and stepfather of Tyre Nichols as guests of First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.
Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., under fire for discrepancies in his biography, will be bringing a former 9/11 volunteer firefighter as his guest.
