WEST LAFAYETTE − Fresh off its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2017, the Purdue women's basketball team will have a tropical tournament destination ahead of Thanksgiving in the upcoming season.

The Boilermakers will travel to The Bahamas and were among eight teams announced for the 10-team Baha Mar Hoops Flamingo Championship from Nov. 20-22 at the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau.

Other teams announced on Thursday were Columbia, East Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Seton Hall and USC.

Tip times, opponents and streaming info will be released at a later date.

The trip to the Bahamas will mark the third for Purdue's women's basketball team, which competed in the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport in 2005 and 2014.

The Boilermakers went 19-11 last season, falling to St. John's in the First Four of the NCAA tournament. Purdue went 2-1 in the Cancun Challenge in an early season tournament, defeating Oklahoma State and Harvard.

Among the key returnees are Jeanae Terry, Caitlyn Harper and Abbey Ellis, all who elected to return for their final season of eligibility. Purdue also brings in the 21st-ranked recruiting class for its third season under head coach Katie Gearlds.
